A lake in Belmont?
Seven years later, we finally discover there's a lake in Belmont...near Wilson and Michelle's new place. Fascinating!

Haircuts for the girls
Michelle came over this week to give both Fedora and Katie haircuts. Both the Chen women were patiently growing their hair out so that it would be long enough to donate to an organization called Wigs for Kids. They'll turn the hair into wigs for kids who are undergoing chemotherapy.
We were a little anxious that Katie would miss her long hair, but so far she's been exhilirated by the freedom and how easy it is to take care of her new 'do.

Eric and Anna's wedding
We were delighted and honored to join Eric and Anna as they got married last weekend. They were blessed with just the perfect day -- sunny but not too hot, not a cloud in the sky -- in Sonoma. The entire affair was elegant, heart-felt, and joyous. Our prayers go out to the couple for a long life of joy together.

Everyone watch the screen now...
Of course, I remember bowling when there was no screen overhead and you kept score on paper with a few #2 pencils. Then they added black and white screens, then color screens, and now, they have huge flat panel displays with cute animations after every toss down the alley. I think the kids were more interested in what animation would pop up on the flat panel than they were in how many physical pins they knocked down.
Happy birthday, David!
Colin was honored to celebrate his school chum David's birthday at a nearby bowling alley. Coincidentally, his Day Camp field trip from earlier in that very same week was at the exact same bowling alley. Colin nearly broke 100 at Day Camp but didn't do quite as well the second time.
Katie lucked out out and joined him at David's party even though she wasn't officially invited. And with the help of a "bowling ball slide" that I'd never seen before, she declared that she wanted her next birthday party at the bowling alley.
The young bowlers capped off their party with a Star Wars birthday cake. Fun!
